Hello fellow readers and writers!
I have some totally exciting news. I have entered my newest book, Crystallized (Book One of the Crystal Chronicles), into Authorstand’s annual Novel Contest. The prizes?
Editor’s Choice: $1000
First Prize: $500
Best in genre (for five different genres): $100
But the biggest prize? An AWESOME credit to add to my query letters which might make agents actually want to look at my work!! (Because for some reason, right now, they just aren’t biting…)
So…what does that mean for you? Well, for the duration of the contest, Crystallized is available for download as an ebook from authorstand–free of charge! Once the contest is over, the book will be taken down and hopefully (no offense, but I can dream) will never be free again 🙂 So if you love Young Adult Fantasy, get your copy here before it disappears. You’ll have to make an Authorstand account, but it is free and easy and I imagine a lot of us already have one anyway.
Secondly, if you read Crystallized and you like it, or even if you don’t read it and you just want to be helpful, rate it and/or leave a review! I can get a limited amount of bonus points toward the first place prize (not editor’s choice) from having high ratings and reviews from authorstand members. So if you have a moment, please, hop over and leave a rating. Here’s the link again.
Thirdly, if you do actually read it, and you’d like to review it, please let me know! When I get closer to publishing time, I will need some preliminary reviews to use in the marketing process. So if you’d like to be part of that, let me know.
Okay, here’s more about Crystallized. If it sounds like something you’ll love, please feel free to download a copy while it’s free. Again, HERE’S THE LINK! And a huge THANK YOU in advance to everyone who downloads a copy, leaves a rating, or even made it this far down the post before leaving 🙂
In a society where faery-tales are banned and magic is punishable by death, fifteen-year-old Rachael’s only talent is to break the rules without being hanged for heresy. But when a powerful crystal pendant falls out of her dreams and into her hands, echoed by a desperate plea for help, even she may be in over her head.
Determined to find the woman who sent the pendant, Rachael embraces the crystal’s power, learning to manipulate the shimmering “fate strings,” lines of energy which connect each object or person with the next moment in time.
Unfortunately, such power can’t stay hidden for long, and soon Rachael is being hunted from all sides–both by her own people, and those of the forest who want her power. Struggling just to survive in the woods, Rachael is captured by Agramon, a vengeful spirit who has possessed the body of a foolish magician. But when she learns of an ancient plot, hatched in a history her people have long forgotten, even the death sentence waiting for her at home becomes the least of her worries.
